Re: Delivery by 'uncredentialed' providerFrom: Efrain Ramirez (eramirezt@coqui.net)Wed Oct 15 06:45:44 2003
I don't know - ask the lawyers - but if she is uncredentialed - it seems to me she is exactly that - she is not allowed to perform deliveries - who is the one granting privileges? As to the roll of the fathers - I don't let them do anything except to cut the umbilical cord - it is my impression that if you let them do the delivery and something happens the institution is liable - and -- everybody - including you - an opinion from a JD would be wise - IMHO...

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
