MalpracticeFrom: Dr. Ainsworth (ainsron@sbcglobal.net)Thu Sep 25 15:12:28 2003
Heard today that Farmer's insurance has stopped issuing new med mal policies and at the end of the year will discontinue all med mal coverage. Apparently they have about 10% of the market in California, 25% in Hawaii and cover several other states also. Could cause quite a scramble by physicians who are going to be out in the cold. They say they lost $100M over the last year.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
