I have inserted more than a thousand IUDs , after normal delivery you can put iud at 6th week , after c/s you can put it after 3rd month without any menstruation .Point is, you should be sure that she is not pregnant at that time .

Over the years, I and my partners have placed several dozen IUDs at the 6 week pp visit, no problems with any of them.

I had an IUD inserted at my 6 week checkup and breastfed past a year. Menses resumed at 8 months, I think. (It WAS 27 years ago!) No problems for me. Of course, that's an N of 1.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
