Re: Public AidFrom: Gail Waldby (gwaldby@willinet.net)Sat Sep 13 09:29:29 2003
Anna, when I practiced in Illinois (1988-1993), Illinois Public Aid increased their reimbursement for deliveries way out of line with their other payments because so many counties, esp in far south Illinois, didn't have anyone delivering babies. So, I suspect, Illinois Public Aid reimbursement for deliveries is much higher proportionally, still than their other reimbursement, so regular insurance may be underpaying you but not nearly as much as you would think from the Public aid reimbursement for delivery. We were getting around 50 dollars for a surgical assist, even of 6+ hours and $12 for an office visit. Gail Waldby,MD Huron Clinic SD Anna Meenan, MD wrote:

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
