Any other thoughts? Has anyone ever done a cryo with the IUD in place? Yes Would the "string" become brittle and break? It didn't on the 3 that I have done. Would you remove the IUD before (or during) any treatment? Cut the string with the LEEP as you do it. IUD's don't have to have a string. They can be removed with an IUD hook or a Novak curette, when you need to remove it later. Dan Since it still has most of its 10 year functional life left - would you try to get a replacement IUD from the company - or charge for a new one - if you decide to take it out and put a new one back in?
