Re: CF carrier testingFrom: Robert J. Carpenter, Jr. MD (zygote@icsi.net)Sat Aug 30 14:30:32 2003
Your patient (preg female) can be referred for formal counselling. The FOB (male - uninsured) can go along for free. If he refuses to assent to testing, then the alternative is an invasive test with the potential risk for loss of pregnancy or the potential for a child with significant long term problems which he as FOB will be required to help pay for. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush or perhaps Mr. Franklin ins better: a penny saved! On 29 Aug 2003 at 19:51, DoctorJoe@aol.com wrote:

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
