In my one failure, I went a head and did rollerball. Sometimes it is best not to press forward so vigorously. You would have had no leg to stand on had there been a complication if the Endoloop did work.

We have been trying the Novasure. Overall I really love it.

I have done 10 patients and 2 other docs in town have done another 10 (or so).

The first time we rented the machine I did one - and it worked wonders for her. The second time I did 5 - and all are thrileed (as am I). This last time I had three patients. Bigger uteri for several of them.

The very last patient we could not get a "GO" with the cavity vacuum check by the machine. I understand the process - and why it has the fail safe that the machine will NOT provide the current through the electrode if it fails the cavity integrity assessment. She had a large uterus with fibroids as well as a patulous cervix. I really do NOT think there was any perforation. We put an Endoloop around the cervix to tighten around the Novasure electrode - basically as a cerclage and finally we changed to a new electrode and checked all the connections. After running out of other options - the procedure was stopped.

For those of you who have done these - A. What else would you have tried? B. Would you have converted to another procedure in light of the "failed cavity integrity" indicating there may be a perforation (she was not pretreated with Lupron)? C. What would you offer this woman no that she has gone to the OR - and nothing has been accomplished for her DUB? D. Anything Else?

Thanks.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
