Yasmin birth control pillFrom: Camila (camilaporcaro@hotmail.com)Sun Jun 29 11:20:34 2003
Berlex, the responsible for the release of Yasmin, claims that drospirenone is a progestin. However, itīs a derived from spironolactone. Itīs not a progestin. The birth control comes from ethinyl estradiol only. Now, if thereīs no progestin opposing the effects of estrogen, what about the risks of endometrium cancer? Howīs the uterus gonna be protected agaisnt the constant influence of estrogen?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
