Oh, I don't think the patients would take too kindly to their doctor declining surgery due to lack of patients. Then, to make matters worse, one of them would call crappycare HMO, and then the crappycare people would start reading how we're violating the contract, etc.

I know that sounds rather puny, but the trouble created isn't worth it--just what the insurers know!

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
