Usually in cases of private adoptions that I've dealt with the adoptive couple (or their attorney) is billed for everything during pregnancy. The patient usually signs a release for records and test results (HIV, U/S, drug screensetc.) of her pregnancy. Many times the patient has come with a letter from the attorney spelling out specially they want some of the above tests done. Lenora McCall, CNM

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
