I have never dared it. A lot of people did that in FL in the 80's when insurers gave up coverage in FL and rates were prohibitive. Fl then required a bond or documentation of financial responsibility. You may ask someone who was in South FL during the 80's. Gary Kleinman

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
