Nope - the earliest I had was a 12 weeker with a placenta percreta - the presentation was basically that of a ruptured ectopic - (belly full of blood for the young folks out there). My guess for the reason for the placenta percreta at that point in pregnancy: she had had three terminations since her first two deliveries and my guess is that one of those had an undiagnosed uterine perforation and the implantation site was at the site of the prior perf. We showed by pathology that it was not a cornual placentation. We could histologically follow the intramural tubal lumen all the was and the percreta site all the way through the myometrium. I did a pretty thorough literature search at the time and there was no other published case report like it. I suppose I should have published, but didn't... Perhaps this 8-weeker had a prior instrumentation with perf. Joanne

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
