Placenta Accreta

Last week I posed a question about diagnosis of placenta accreta with another post that no one addressed. When would you order an MRI to assist with the diagnosis, or would you? Is it even worth the added expense? The highest risk factors appear to be maternal age and placenta previa in a patient with a previous scarred uterus. The simplest course appears to me to be ready to deal with it in those patients, i.e. have blood ready, appropriate assistant, etc.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
