a primary infertile patient with a borderline papillar serose cyst adenomFrom: Emre YAZICIOGLU (eyazici@usa.net)Thu Jun 1 13:58:06 2000
24 years old, 3 years married, 1 year infertile patient. Laparoscopy was performed due to a right ovarian 3 cm diameter endometrioma like cyst. Pathology was reported as a borderline type, papillar serose cyst adenoma. Second opinion was gotten by another pathologist was the same diagnosis. Her laparoscopic finding were some small endometriosis implants in cul de sac and right ovarian 3 cm diameter cyst. No ascite in the abdomen.Serum Ca 12.5 was 10,6.(Normal: <35) That cyst was present in the same diameter, just about three years ago and the serum ca 12.5 was 18. What would you plan to do? 1) Right oophorectomy with a wedge biopsy from the left ovary? 2) Follow the patient with USG and serum Ca 12.5 levels for some months and let her to become pregnant ? Thank you.
