Hi Annie,

I think you should talk to your surgeon and discuss all of your options. Surgeons all have different feelings on the matter. I spoke with a surgeon who didn't want to do more than one surgery because he was concerned about surgical scar tissue. BUT then I met with another surgeon who wasn't as concerned about surgical scar tissue. So, each surgeon has their own way of doing things.

Talk with your doctor, but whatever you decide to do make sure that you're clear on what you want. I went to a specialist (a top specialist in my area no less!) and he was supposed to remove my endo lesions and the two large cysts on my ovaries. I asked him if he was excising the lesions and cysts. He answered, of course!

I wake up from surgery and I find out he did not excise the cysts. He merely drained them... hmmm... He also did not do a biopsy... which he was supposed to do!

Understandly, I was very upset. He did nothing that we discussed.

So, just talk with your surgeon, and make sure everything is CLEAR before hand. And do as much research as you can. If I were you I'd google terms like "laparoscopy," "diagnostic laparoscopy," "surgical scar tissue," "endometriosis surgery,"... anything you can think of.
