Re: does anyone know anything about chronic fatigue syndromeFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netWed Sep 29 20:47:35 2004
I HEAR YOU!!!!It is not just fatigue, it is overwhelming exhaustian that leaves you helpless and bedridden. I have experienced it many, many years and am in the midst of it. 1St do not believe the reasoning that you may have heard, that their is no cure for it or no treatment!! Do not believe the one about it being depression also. Hey I know the depression kind of fatigue & it is a lot different! Their is always an underlying cause of chronic fatigue. Of course endo is part of it, but their is so much more.... I went to many medical Drs. for years-no findings.... A naturopathic dr. has helped me immensly!! Some tests you can push for at MD's but you may need another kind of Dr. also. Thyroid, hormonal tests, cortisol level, Hypoglycemia(need a 3 hr glucose test), Iron levels... I know it sounds like a lot, but the source of it needs to be found. If it is not found out & treatment does not work, find another Dr. My findings besides the endo: hypoglycemia, adrenal gland fatigue(MD's do not recognize this), anemia, B12 deficiancy. Just anemia alone will cause extreme exhaustian. I have recently started on iron & B12 shots 3 X a week & am improving finally. I am sorry to say this, as it may just be my experience only, but I have found my medical Drs. to be no help at all. Finally out of bed!
