Re: nerve pain, burning, tingling after lap

Hi Melissa,

I don't know if this would be helpful or not, but I will tell you about my experience with nerve damage. During my hyst, I hemorrhaged and had to have transfusions. The transfusions were put into my left arm. After leaving the hospital, I developed phlebitis. I found that I also had nerve damage in my arm (I.Vs can cause this). It hurt a lot. My doctor suggested using capsasin cream and it helped. The only problem with capsasin cream is that because it is made from hot peppers, it can cause burning pain. It burns when the area you use it on gets wet, from showering or sweating, etc. I found that the burning was something I could tolerate to a point because it did help with the pain in my arm. The pain has lessened over the years and only tends to bother me if I am retaining fluids during a cycle (I have ovarian remnant syndrome).

I hope this info might be of some help. Discuss it with your doctor.

Best wishes, D.N.
