EndometriosisFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netMon Mar 29 14:08:53 2004
This journey started two years ago!!! I was going to the gynocologist and was complaining of severe menstrual cramping and was concerned that I had endometriosis. The doctor that I was going to at the time tried birth control pills. That was a nightmare, after taking three different types of pills and continuing to have a cycle while on each pill for over three months, my doctor finally put me on Yasmin28, which seemed to work for 1yr. Then I started to have the same problems with the Yasmin as the other pills. Throughout this process I had multiple ultrasounds and even a surgical consult in which the doctor/surgeon proceeded to ask me if I was trying to get pregnant at this time in which I answered "no" then she stated that she didn't understand my problem and to see her when I am wanting to get pregnant. A year later I decided to get a second opinion, my new doctor heard everything I had been through and after reviewing my chart immediately scheduled a Laporoscopy. After the Laporoscopy she found endometriosis and removed what she had found and was able to tell me that what she found seemed to have only been there for 2yrs. Which I was scared had been longer since I felt I had been symptomatic since I was 16yrs. It is now two months since my Laporoscopy and I am still having symptoms of endometriosis. Today I received a 3 month shot of Lupron-Depot. I hope that I can counter act some of the side effects by continuing my Paxil 25 mg CR that I have been taking for at least the last 8 months. If anyone has any advice I welcome it. I am so glad that I found this site!!!
