Dsyfunctional Uterine BleedingFrom: Tricia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Mar 29 12:32:48 2004
I am 32 Years old and have one child. I had the child by c-section 11 years ago. My periods have been irregular all of my life, they usually range between 22-26 days apart. I seldom have pain and they usually last 4 days. I stopped taking lo/ovral in January in the hopes of conceiving. I had my period of 4 days this month, one week later I started spotting again for three days, and then one week after that I started to bleed and it lasted for 7 days. I just stopped bleeding and now it is time for my period again. I have a pain in my lower right abdomen and moderate discomfort during sex. I have visited the DR. and at fist he thought it was due to a bladder infection and he gave me medication for it, the symptoms stopped, but they returned as soon as I finished the medication. I returned to the doctor and he done a pap/pelvic and an ultrasound. He said everything looks normal except the lining of my uterus which seems to be thickening. He urged me to visit my OB/GYN and I am awaiting the appointment. What could be causing me this problem? Could this cause me to become infertile? I am really scared.
