Re: Any College Students??? Missing classes anyone?????

I am not a student but I am having issues with work. They are giving me
such grief about my attendance and I cannot handle it anymore. I can't
even
sleep at night because all I can think about is work and my attendance,
while I'm in pain. I have to go to so many Dr's appointments and have
some
days when the pain is physically so bad that I have to call someone to
come
look after my son as I am a single mom. Even on days when I have severe
pain they want a dr's note within 7 days of my absence but I cannot get
in
to see my gyne for weeks. then when I do get in to see him he's
frustrated
because he keeps saying that we cannot keep giving you notes every time
you
are in pain. I have been held back for promotions because of my
attendance
and feel like I'm being treated like a criminal. I think they are
trying to
make me quit.
The only way I know to cope is to arm myself with all the legal info I
can
to support myself and if they push me too far I will have to seek legal
help. I live in Canada and we have a pretty good Human Rights
Commission
and Labour Code to protect me. It's sad that I have to waste all my
free
time researching though instead of concentrating on getting better.
Sometimes it feels like such an up hill struggle.
I hope whoever said "Whatever doesn't kill you can only make you
stronger"
and "hard times build strength and character" knows what they're talking
about, because if not I'm not so sure why I'm working so hard.
