Re: Any College Students???? Missing Classes Anyone????From: amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Mar 23 14:27:38 2004
I am not currently in college, however I started having my pain while I was at NAU a couple of years ago. I was having the same problems with missing so much class. I was able to get a note from my doctor and submit it the administrator who then got word to my instructors. This explained my situation and allowed me to miss class when I had to and allowed more flexibility with assignment deadlines. Another suggestion is to get a little tape recorder and ask a friend in the class or even the professor to tape the lectures for you. I think if at all possible you should try to stick with it. It can be very depressing to not have a normal "life" but it is also hard to get back to school once you leave. The insurance thing is hard also. I would think that a medical leave would still allow you to be covered as a full time student. I was able to get health insurance through the school and maybe they would be more flexible if you insurance isn't. A lot of times it is trying to find the right people at school to help you. If you do think you should take a medical leave I am sure a school counselor can point you in the direction of who you need to talk to. Hope some part of this may have helped. I wish you the best of luck with your appointment. Also, how did you find your endo specialist? Amy
