I am looking for some answers, looking for help. I do not see my new gyn for another 3 weeks. I recently recived my records from my old gyn (was only going for a second opinion but old doc told me to "move on" since i sought second opinion). I am sorry if this post is so long, but wanted to give a good history. Here is a bit of history: Started periods at age 10, i am currently 24. By age 16 put on birth control to "help" with cramping and heavy bleeding. But b/c did a number on my moods. Been on and off different ones since then. In june of 2001 miscarried at 15 weeks (had emergancy d&c), in october of 2001 miscarried at 6 weeks naturally. September of 2002 gave birth to my daughter after a very rough pregnancy (gestational diabetes w/ insulin injections, PIH, etc.)

Since then I have been having very heavy, painful, irregular periods. I bleed for 9 - 24 days, stop for about a week, then begin bleeding again. In Aug of 2003 I had an endometrial biopsy done, results were "disordered proliferative endometrium" (doc never gave me the results). Doc put me on NORTHINDRONE 10 day cycle. This worked for the first 2 months, but then began to bleed thru. Then I was on MEDROXYPROGESTERONE, that didnt last long either. Last medication I was on was MEGESTROL (megace) and only for one cycle (docs choice).

I had a SHG to r/o polyps. Doc decided to stop all medications and "see what happens". He also ignored my complaint of nipple discharge (which started 13 months after i stopped breastfeeding). So I decided to seek a second opinion for this "abnormal uterine bleeding" (menometrorrhagia is what my records say).

As of aug 2003 (last blood draw) my hemoglobin was 9, hematocrit was 34, RDW was 16.7, TSH was 0.78, and prolactin was 15.9.

Oddly enough I am gaining weight, but have no appitite, very tired (due to the anemia), I have night sweats, and bad mood swings. The pain gets to the point where I double over.

I am looking for answers such as what is "disordered proliferative endometrium"? And how does this effect me? Should I be having certain tests run? Thanks in advance for help!!
