Re: Bextra and Morphine for daily painFrom: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun Mar 7 12:15:00 2004
Hi Krista: I take Bextra as well every day at the maximum dose of 40mg. I have been taking it pretty much since it came out. It works better at first but eventually it stops working so well. My pain specialist told me this is normal. It also upsets my stomach now. It didn't do this at first but again, after months of use it started too. Aparantly this is normal too for some people. The same thing happened to me with Vioxx after months of use. I haven't had any other side effects from the Bextra. What I do not like about it is that once you take it you are committed to it for 24 hours in that you can't take a better antiinflammatory if you need one like Anaprox or Toradol. Bextra doesn't even compare to those two for acute pain (for me anyway). You can however take percocet or morphine with Bextra so I guess that is a possible solution for when it is really bad. Also my dr and pharamcist told me once in awhile you can mix antiinflammatories if pain is bad. Anyway, hopefully Bextra works for well for you that you don't need anything else! Keep me updated on the Danazol. I am on Lupron now but will try Danazol next probablly. Amanda
