Nancy, 3 mths ago I had endo surgery. Aside from all the pelvic endo, it had also grown right thru the wall of my rectosigmoid bowel - the piece of bowel was almost closed over, and it had kinked and double back on itself - very close to having an obstructed bowel. They had no option but to remove the piece of bowel, about 8 inches - and so far the result is wonderful, I am much happier and healthier and pain free without that piece of bowel. It basically will depend on the extent of the bowel involvement which they can't necessarily tell until they get in there and have a look, but if it helps, I personally am much happier to have had that piece removed than for them to have tried to repair it.
