Hi again ladies!!

I got an answer from the drs at the Women's Health forum. He answered based on preeclampsia so I wrote back to ask if there's a difference between the two, but for now here is what Dr. Marchbein who is a regular over there had to say:

At this point in time, preeclampsia does not appear to be an autoimmune disease. (I try and leave things open for future information). There may be a genetic component as well as nutritional factors and concomittent chronic hypertension AND preeclampsia is noted more frequently in first pregnancies (for the first pregnancy with another mate) but a lot of what is written below has, shall we say, not made it to the medical literature. A "reaction" or "exposure" to "new" sperm is not the same thing as "autoimmune". Immunologic and autoimmune are NOT synonymous.

HSM

Let me know what you think about this Belle.

It's the little things that count with all of us ladies: flowers, candy, finding a good ob/gyn who will truly listen to us, and finding a cure for endometriosis.
