Suzy Best of luck on your upcoming surgery. I will be thinking of you and praying for you. I think you are absolutely correct in thinking HRT immediately is a bad idea. And, as long as you get plenty of calcium in your diet and/or with supplementation, as well as weight-bearing exercise, you should be fine to put it off for awhile. The Endo Association and most endo docs recommend doing without HRT for usually 6 months. Physically, it may be hard, depending on the intensity of your menopausal symptoms.
