Re: A few questionsFrom: Robert (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Dec 29 22:39:10 1999
Suz: Endo, from my understanding, is implants within the pelvic cavity (not inside the uterus). The endometrium lining actually is fully normal for the uterus. The implants within the pelvic cavity are made of similar material as the endometrium. It's just that since it's in the pelvic cavity, where it doesn't belong, that it becomes so much more of an irritant. For lots of us endometriosis infiltrates the ovaries and then we end up with ruptured cysts that cause more endo implants and definitely more adhesions (which are painful in and of themselves). There have been lots of theories as to how endo gets outside of the uterus but I don't believe they have ever been able to come up with the "right" answer. You might find more information from the endometriosis association as I could be way off here. This is primarily what I believe endo to be. Hope you are doing well. Take care, Leah S. bobsmountain@compaq.net Rancho Cordova, CA P.S. There are NO stupid questions here at this forum. Knowledge is what all of us are seeking so we can be better informed about our choices. -----Original Message----- From: SUZANNE <anonymous@obgyn.net> To: Multiple recipients of list ENDO <anonymous@obgyn.net> Date: Sunday, December 19, 1999 2:01 PM Subject: A few questions
