? for Belle

Dear Belle,

For almost a year now, my periods come only every other month. My dr checked my hormone levels and they're okay. I'm 39, so I don't think I'm perimenopausal (also because my hormones are okay). I have cysts on my ovaries though. Could this cause me to skip a period? It's odd that when one is skipped, the next one comes exactly when it should. Do you think one of my ovaries has ceased to function? My ovaies were reconstructed over 8 yrs. ago during a laparotomy for severe endo. When I asked my dr. about skipping periods, he really didn't say anything about it.

Thanks for your time!

Take care. Linda S
