Re: A few questionsFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netSun Dec 19 16:29:43 1999
Hi Suzanne... Gosh, I do not know where to start! My name is Lisa, and you are only the second person I have come across who had endo in the c-section scar. The other girl and I both had ours come right back. She has had hers removed a second time, successfully, while I still carry mine. I have a strange story, and I won't go into the whole thing now, but for your doctor to say that you can't get endo on the uterus since you've had a tubal is sheer lunacy! I had my tubes tied in 88...I had a hyst this year, and had adenomyosis in the uterus...had the ovaries and tubes removed a few months later and had endo there as well as scattered throughout the pelvic cavity. When your doctor removed the endo from your scar, did he remove other endo as well? I ask this because when mine was removed, my doctor did not consider that I might also have endo in other places... so he removed the lump and my uterus but didn't look elsewhere. I moved and had to have emergency surgery because of the endometriomas on my ovaries. I don't think I would have had the endo in the scar if it hadn't been in other places to be transported there during surgery. Well, I guess I have told most of the story after all...it just drives me crazy that doctors say those things! Also, there isn't much info out there on endo in the scar, but it is very painful...I am thankful I don't have periods any more. I have one article that my first surgeon gave me, and it's the only one I have seen. I would be glad to send it to you if you would like to read it. It came out of Contemporary OBGYN, and he photocopied it and gave it to me. Do NOT feel stupid in any way for asking any questions...it's the only way we can learn. I knew nothing about endo when I came to the forum in June. I'm so glad you found this place and please look for a doctor who knows about endo. Good luck to you. I somehow think he didn't know what he was saying as he told me the first time he removed it, it wouldn't come back and it did. What in the world do the Fallopian tubes have to do with endo not getting into the uterus? I thought the Edno was endometrium lining that is inside the uterus. Do I have that wrong? As I also understadn they do not know exactly how the Edno. gets outside the uterus. I hope I don't sound stupid asking these questions. I'm just trying to make some sence of this.
My endo. Was first discovered on my right side on my c-section scar. It was
dimpling my skin on the scar pulling it in. My x Doctor thought I got the
endo. from the c-section. On the second c-section I had when he took the
first lump of endo. out he said they irigated the area real well so that the
endo. would not return. Less then a yr now and I have anouther lump but it's
not dimpling on the right side by the c-section scar. It is harder to feel
but can be felt easier during period. MY stomache gets so tender that even
touching the area slightly is excruciating pain.
Thanks for any thoughts on this.
Suz
