Endo treatmentFrom: Angie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Nov 10 17:10:49 1999
I have had endometriosis for 18 years - I am now 32. I have undergone six surgeries laprascopically for the ablation of endometriosis, been on danocrine for 6 months, zoladex for 6 months, synaryl for 9 months, and also Lupron. I also tried continuous bcps - both traditional and progesterone only. During the gnrh treatments I did have SOME pain relief, but only while ON them. After each surgical ablation, I had relief from 6-8 months. My doctor is now recommending a hysterectomy because the endometriosis is "too wide spread" to remove. She said it was "peppered" thru-out the pelvic cavity - not affecting the bowel, but was affecting the bladder, peritoneum, uterus, remaining ovary, and cul-de-sac. My question is this: Given the above information would you recommend a hysterectomy WITHOUT the removal of endometriosis followed by immediate HRT for pain relief?
