Apartment hunting went well and they'll let us know if we have the apartment by Saturday (they're running their standard reference checks). We were so exhausted that we fell into bed and went right to sleep. I don't think the trip agreed with me as I've been in terrible, awful pain all day. Part of the pain is due to the vicodin removal. The docs had determined that the tylenol in the vicodin was doing a number on my liver. Before they find a narcotic without the tylenol they want me to try a combination of two drugs (non-narcotics). So I started the vioxx this morning and they doc decided to combine the vioxx with ultram this afternoon. (He started giving me a bunch of BS that ultram would be his drug of choice if he was high in the mountain and suddenly broke a leg.) He says these two drugs within five days of starting them usually can control the endo pain. He thinks most of the endo pain is due to inflammation. Anyway, in the meantime I get to be the guinea pig and take two drugs that aren't truly working at all. Five days is the trial time. Can't wait to see them fly by if that means they'll switch me on to a narcotic that works. Hey, maybe I shouldn't be so pessimistic, maybe the drugs will work once they've built up in my system. My own primary care comes back from sabbatical a week from today. I see him a week from tomorrow. Maybe he'll have some other solutions. I can only hope!!! For all those in pain I wish you pain free days and restful, peaceful sleep. For all those new to the forum "welcome aboard". For all my dear friends sorry I've not been replying to messages. The pain has had me down and I've been laying on the couch or in a hot tub for most of the day. May all of you have a wonderful, happy thanksgiving. I know Bob and I are very thankful that he's alive for this holiday as that cancer would have killed him before this Christmas had it gone undetected. I know he won't be able to eat lots but he's looking forward to family and mashed potatoes and gravy (that's about all he can swallow at this point). BTW, my nine year old niece is going to be visiting us for the weekend. Her Mom will come and get her early Monday morning. I will try my hardest and get on to see how all of you are doing while she is here. I'll try and get some replies out but may just end up spending lots of fun time with my niece. Take care everybody and I hope all of you are doing well. Love to you, Leah S. bobsmountain@compaq.net
