Re: What to expectFrom: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Sep 30 19:19:16 1999
Rebecca, Every woman is different when it comes to being diagnosed with endometriosis. I am Stage II, but I had a lot of pain. Some women can have Stage I endo and have a lot of pain, and then there are women who have the most severe form of endo and not a lot of pain (at least this is what I have heard.) If you are curious about what stage you are just ask the dr to see what they say. There are different treatment options for endo, and make sure to discuss each option with her carefully. With any medicine or form of treatment there will be some side effects. Just remember that not all treatments will be the right one for you. The form of treatment that I am using is continuous birth control. What that means is that I take just the hormone pills of a pack of birth control pills. This can be done safely for as long as you want to until you decide that you want to get pregnant. Make sure to prepare a list of questions to ask your dr and be sure to tell your dr why you are concerned about certain types of treatments and why you might not want to do them. I will be glad to answer any questions that you have about continuous birth control therapy. Feel free to e-mail me directly any time that you want to do that or just need to chat on a private basis. I hope that this helps you. Kristy :) http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/Falls/4659/kristyspage.html
