Re: Sometimes, I just wish,,,,,,JanFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netThu Sep 30 16:57:18 1999
Sorry to butt in, but I wanted to say that it was hard enough for me to get the message, much less my husband. The video done by Belle and others called Endometriosis: The Inside Story is a wonderful tool, and for my husband it made a light come on. He isn't much on reading, but give him a video with graphics and BINGO...he's got it. Of course, he still gets his hopes up, gets them down, gets the faraway look, withdraws...you name it. Not too long ago, Lori posted a message that seemed to say it all for me...they need to be able to vent their frustration but never by being and speaking disrespectful to us. (How was that again, Lori?) Hope this helps a little. Lisa B.
<< Thanks Jan. How do I get him to understand that this may never go away?
We've talked before and I've expressed how scared I am and he still seems to
believe that it will just go away. Even when I tell him it might not, he
doesn't seem to think so. I've asked him to read articles and he's read
some, but I don't think he gets it. (He shares the housework with me and
due to my surgery & the pain he's probably been doing more than his share,
but I also work full time and go to school one night a week.) Was it this
hard to get the message through to anyone elses significant other?
