Hi ladies! Hope everyone is having a good weekend, and getting a break from the pain. Welcome! to all the newbies - quite a few new names here lately. I know you'll all find this place very helpful, warm and supportive - I know I sure do!! A question for you all - has anyone had a hyst with an epidural?? When I met with the anaestetist (sp?) on Thurday she said that was an option. Frankly, I don't think I really want to go that route, but wondering if anyone has and how it was. I have a bit of time to make up my mind. I think it might be better if I'm knocked out - cause even though I know this is the best thing, it still makes me pretty sad some days and I don't want to be crying while they're chopping me up, ya know? The part of 6 to 8 weeks without sex doesn't excite me very much either- I keep telling my hubby we have to 'stock up' hehehehehe. I saw another gyne on Wednesday for the 'second opinion' thingie - she's helping to do the hyst. She was sooooo nice!!! She validated everything I'd been saying and feeling. And, she basically implied that my regular obgyn was not up to speed with respect to pain management and narcotics, and said that no, I will not get addicted cause I'm in so much pain. It went very well, and she even said it was really nice to see my hubby there and that obviously we have a very strong relationship blah blah blah. I'm supposed to be off work this week on holidays - just wanted some ME time before I have my hyst. So, hopefully, I should be able to be around on the forum more than I have been! Someone asked recently about my family news - my aunt is still hanging on, she's a stubborn bird :) and is not ready to go yet. My uncle too. Its just a matter of time, but I guess they have things they need to do; its not their time yet. Thanks again for all of your prayers and support during this difficult time; it means so much. Luv and painfree wishes to all, and billions of butterflies, Amy
