Deniece, This is kinda late...sorry. Welcome to the group. Has your doc mentioned another lap? A hyst is a little drastic if you haven't had a lap, and it's been four years so you don't know what all is going in there. I hope you and your doc can come to a decision on this and get you pain free. Best wishes. Lisa B. << I'm 36 year old and I'm still fighting Endo. I had major surgery at 19, it was so bad that they thought it might be cancer and send me to a cancer specialist at UCLA. They went in and removed two cysts on my ovaries one the size of a grapefruit and the other an orange, that ended up being endo. Since then I've been on birth control (numerous times, doesn't work!), Danocrine about 4 times and Syneral once. The Danocrine worked well but the endo always returned within a year. Syneral was ok, It lasted a little longer. I went into a rebellion and decided not to go back to the doctor for 4 years. I don't like those exams anymore than the next person and felt I had more than my fair share. Finally, things are getting so bad again and I went back, the ultrasound showed that it's back, of course (I could have told him that), and now my doctor wants to do a Hysterectomy. I'm single and not ready to give everything up. From what I can tell from research, that this isn't necessarily a good option anyway. Perhaps an easy way out for an inexperienced doctor? I asked about other medications and he suggested Lupron. That sounds very scary to me too. I have a family history of Osteoperosis (sp) my mother is disabled from it and I'm struggling with bone spurs and other fun stuff already myself. I also have a long family history of cancer. I worry that I've already messed up my long term health with the drugs I've taken. I could probably go another year or so before the pain gets disabling again but I don't want to get to that point. Isn't there anything new? Something else I can try that will buy me a few more years fairly pain free? I'm getting very frustrated like everyone else.
