Re: From Laura BurroughsFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netWed Jul 28 10:57:06 1999
Laura (from another Laura), I know exactly how you feel. It was very hard for me to accept the fact that after all these years I would probably never have a child of my own - it still disturbs me greatly. But you have two wonderful children (I'm sure) and a husband that loves and supports you in this. Dont think about adopting or anything else right now - focus on getting yourself better, because if you're not well, how can you care for your family in the way they deserve? Or even another child? YOU and your health have to come FIRST! After my surgery, I would sit for hours and cry. Seeing kids playing in the park or cute little kids in the store would make me cry. One day I woke up and said no more, I can't deal with this and started researching foster parenting and adopting. Just that little bit made me feel so much better, knowing what was involved and that, yes, I could be adopt as a single parent. You just focus on getting better and being pain free. And keep us posted on how you're doing. Warm hugs, Laura
