Re: Dr. Referrals- Pls helpFrom: Yvette (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Jul 21 12:16:19 1999
Hi Beth, My name is Yvette. I live in South Mississippi. I do know a little bit about Dr. Cook in Louisiana. I, also like you, kept coming across his name on the internet. I decided to give him a call. I got to talk to him on the phone for about 30-35 minutes. He was very attentive and seemed to really listen to me, not just hear me. After some serious consideration and alot of talking to my husband, I decided to make an appointment with him to have a laporoscopy done. I leave for New Orleans (Metairie) early tomorrow morning (Thurs. July 22), and tomorrow and Friday I will have preop testing done, an exam by Dr. Cook, and I will get to talk to him about any question I have about the surgery. I will then check in the hospital Sunday night, and have the lap done at 5:30am Monday morning (July 26). So hopefully I will be able to give you some very positive news soon. One of the reasons I decided to go to him was because he told me even though it is very hard to say how long I will have relief from the endo (with each case being unique), most of his patients averaged about 5 years. And since I less than a year with my first lap and less than 2 years with Lupron, right now I can only hope for 5 years. Please feel free to email me personally. Best of wishes, and many pain free days to everyone.
-- Yvette
