Hi Mandy

I am 28 and I have had more trouble with endometriomas than anything else. Endometriomas are cysts that are filled with endo and they don't go away by themselves. Hopefully you only have ordinary ovarian cysts. The largest one that I had was the size of a small orange. I have had four laps to have them drained. I know it can be daunting the first time something like this happens to you but please don't be terrified of it. You are better to have the cyst drained than to let it go. I let two of mine go (I go into denial that I even have them in the hope that they will go away. It doesn't work!) and they started to leak. This made me really sick. Please don't let it get to this as it takes longer to get over it. When I had my laps I woke up with a drainage tube which was left in overnight. This is rather uncomfortable but nothing to worry about. It's annoying more than anything. If you have this and it is on the side, removal isn't too bad. If it is on your bikini line, scream your head off when it is removed - it'll make you feel better (I always apologize beforehand for any language that comes out of my mouth!). Seriously, though, try not to worry about it too much. There are plenty of us who have been through it numerous times and we have all survived. I just look at my endo and endometriomas in the way that they obviously aren't going to go away so I'm not going to let it upset me and I get on with life. Occassionally it does get the better of me and knocks me down for a while. but I get up and soldier on. It is really more of a nusiance than anything.

I hope everything goes well for you and that it isn't too serious. Try not too worry too much.

Kathryn
