Re: subcutaneous endo (abdominal nodules??)-ShannonFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netTue Jun 29 23:41:04 1999
Hi Shannon, I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner...my kids really needed an afternoon out. Between Mom not feeling well and rainy weather, they have been kind of cooped up. Wow...you have really been through alot! It is amazing what women are expected to live with sometimes. My history hasn't been nearly as traumatic, though it has been painful. Lots of the things you describe sound exactly like my mother's symptoms. She had a hyst at an early age for endo. Since I have not been officially diagnosed with endo, except for the endo in the c-section scar, I am not familiar with the treatments. I have several cysts on my right ovary right now, one of which is golfball size and complex, and which the ER doctors were fairly sure was endo. However, since my doctor never even bothered to tell me about the adenomyosis (had to go to the hospital and get copies of my records, path report) he has totally dismissed endo on the ovary. My ovaries should never have been left, I suspect. I had an appointment today that I didn't keep...I will just wait til I get to MN. I already have the name of a good doctor from one of the other sisters. I am glad you have some pain relief from your lap in June, but it does seem as though your quality of life could still be improved. You never mentioned your age, but I was wondering if you have children. After many PID's, I had a laparascopy in 1985 and was told that my tubes were swollen shut, not much chance of pregnancy. But in 87, my son was born and then in 88, my daughter was born. I also have an 18 year old. So I feel very fortunate, and my heart goes out to those who are having trouble conceiving. My husband and I tried for three years. Well, Shannon, I don't feel like I have been much help.:( Sometimes it does help just to share our experiences, pain and joy on those days when things are good. Please feel free to email me any time. I will be online til sometime next week...hope my computer will be the last thing to get packed. LOL I will miss it til we can get it set back up. We'll be moving the weekend of July 10. I'll be thinking about you and wishing you the best. Talk to you soon! Lots of compassion, Lisa
