Re: Brain Tumour???From: Allan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Jun 22 15:54:22 1999
Hi Jennifer A friend of mine has a pituitary tumor, its benign, she's had it for years, she's on no active treatments its just being monitored. For here, she's been 'lactating' for years, because of the tumor, although never been preg and never breastfed. No idea if she has any fertility or other problems due to this, they were never checked out, and she is not trying to get preg so not been an issue. As for treatment, I don't know too much about it, but sounds like most of the time its just left, and if it can't be left for whatever reason then there's a surgical procedure to remove it. How long til you find out if this is the prob? Are they going to send you for testing? Its probably not something to get too stressed about - yes, I know that sounds awfully condescending but I read up on this when my friend was first diagnosed and I was all freaked out until I realized it wasn't a major thing. Do some research yourself too, knowledge is our greatest ally. If you have any questions or want to talk about this, feel free either here or privately. I'll be away til next Wed or Thurs but will get back to you. Take care of yourself and best wishes. happy and painfree wishes to everyone, luv, Amy
