Hi! I had a laparoscopy and endo removal in Feb. I was very much looking forward to going, because I hoped it would help figure out what was happening with me and be hopefully the beginning of better times, so I was not in the least nervous. Mine was just a day surgery; brought slippers, housecoat, wore loose fitting clothes - you don't want to wear tight clothes or something restrictive like jeans right after the lap cause you'll be tender. As for things I didn't know - yes, learned some things after in my post op report, but, it wouldn't have changed whether I had the lap or not. Did your doc talk to at all about what he/she will be doing? where you'll be cut, positions you'll be in, etc? If you want to know how mine was, I can tell you, but I don't know if every doc does is the same or not. Are you having anything else done at the same time? I also had a D&C and my tubes checked/cleaned. I had complications with infection at the sites after; my doc says this is not commom. But I wouldn't suggest you plan on doing anything very rigourous or physically demanding in the few days after. You'll have to wait and see how your body responds. As for only being able to find endo in a small percent of women, that sounds wierd, I've never heard of anyone saying anything like that. A lap is the only way to diagnose endo. I hope this helps you some and please feel free to email me if you have further questions. Try not to worry too much, and focus on the potential positives that can come out of this. Plan on pampering yourself and just relaxing the night before, with a hot bath, movies, book, etc. so you don't worry all night long. Good luck and take care. Painfree wishes to everyone luv, Amy
