I believe the only way a dr can clearly verify endo is through a lap. I've had two laps done in the last couple years and I have a few suggestions. You don't want to bring anything to the hospital except for loose clothes you'll be wearing. No valuables and the less you have to keep up with the better. Tell the dr to explain everything to the person who accompanies you since the dr will tell you personally after you have come out of anesthesia and it's hard to remember everything you were told. Expect some shoulder pains for a couple days afterwards. Also, make sure they give you plenty of fluids while you're in the recuperating room!!!! Don't drink non-caffeine or diet colas either....go for good old regular coke or pepsi. I found out the hard way my first time around. It took me 3 hrs before I was able to urinate! They won't let you leave until you do. This was also after drinking 4 cans of soda. Finally, it may be a few days b4 you have a bm. Hope these suggestions help ease your mind some. Good Luck! I'll be thinking about you! Let us know how it goes!
