Re: Husband & EndoFrom: Kathryn (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Jun 3 04:25:33 1999
Hi Jamie I'm sorry to hear about what you are going through. I can appreciate that men can't understand what we are going through but they could at least try. I am 28 and was diagnosed with endo in 1990. After many laps and doctors visits along with numerous drugs I am now opting for the natural approach. The only problem with this, and this is what your husband should try to understand, is that it takes a long while for it to take effect. When you have pain with endo, you want relief NOW!!!! So I have opted for a compromise. I am doing both. I had a lap in January and I have started taking herbs and Juice Plus+ but I am also currently taking Provera, which I intend to stop taking in August. Then I will continue on with my natural treatment and see how I go. If I have pain I will take painkillers but so far I haven't found this to be necessary. I really think that the natural approach is the way to go as I am so sick of taking drugs, but I do think that painkillers are good when you are in so much pain. If your endo is really bad I think that you need to have a lap to help you start on your road to recovery. My endo was really bad and I think that if I didn't have my lap in January that there is any way for drugs, herbs or anything to help me recover. I was really sick. So maybe you should talk to him about a compromise. I really think that he needs to stop being so tunnel visioned about the whole thing. He should realise that this is only going to make your endo worse because of the stress he is putting on you. I has to be your decision and he should support you with it. I hope things get better for you soon. We are here for you. Kathryn
