Maria, There are'nt any cars on the Island, so you'll have to do some walking, but you can rent a carriage, i don't know how much they cost. Don't stay on the Island because it costs way too much. Stay in St. Ignace or Mackinaw City. You can get on the website and have info sent. When we got on, thay automatically sent us a booklet of info on hotels, pricing, locations, and stores, and bed and breakfasts, restaurants, attractions, specials, etc. We did'nt even ask for the info, they just sent it. They even give descriptions of the hotels and everything that comes with it, including things for kids. And they say if its 1 star up to 5 star, its really something to look into. Just type in mackinawcity.com . We hopefully, depending on how i am feeling, but will go anyway(I dont want to dissapoint anyone), ypou guys know how it goes, next wk sometime. Hope you decide to go, it really is gorgeous, but if you don't like boats, i dont, you have to get to the island on a ferrry. Have fun.
