Dear Cheryl, Thanks for the folic acid tip. I'm one of those lucky few that have very little pain although I have a substantial amount of endo. My problem is not being able to get pregnant, not that I have to live with pain. The doctor didn't want me to do drug therapy, I suppose you have to wait a long time after you quit taking the drugs before you can try to get pregnant, and I'm approaching 40. I've been taking folic acid for years, but it wasn't until recently that I started taking alot of vitamins. I'm a big skeptic! I think taking them on an empty stomach with orange juice never helped either. I learned that's a big no-no. Now I take them with my lunch. I tried taking them at night, but they kept me up all night! A friend of mine with endo, only 1 tube working, and a husband with a low sperm count, was trying for 7 yrs to get pregnant. They both started to take tons of vitamins (esp Vit.E for him), and within 2 months she was pregnant! So that gave me the idea. I've always tried to eat well, because when you also have irrit. bowel synd you're kind of forced to eat the right foods, but the vitamins have really helped me enormously. Also, I've gone through bouts of exercise over the years (not being the athletic type, I have to force myself), and when I do, I really feel so much better. No more cramps, cold feet (helps circulation, perhaps?), irritable bowels, mood swings. I think it's a must for those who have endo. Hope this is of help to everyone. Good luck with your attempt to conceive, I wish you all the luck in the world. I'm sure you'll be successful. I know of alot of women who have had endo surgery and got pregnant immediately.
