Re: back from surgery - StaceyFrom: Tina (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun May 30 17:08:30 1999
Thanks Stacey- Sorry I sounded Gruff on my last message. I just got off the phone and was told to lay down for three hours. I started bleeding a little. Walking to much I suppose. Well The surgery lasted 2 hours recovery was about an hour. The surgery pain is nothing. Seriously and I think I only took a pain reliever like 3-4 times. But for the wrong reasons. I thought my gas pain was surgery pain. They did a spinal block so I didn't have to go under and then used staples . (they were removed before I left the hospital) the feeling I had was my stomach was really heavy and I was stiff I couldn't move my legs to far or fast. My stomach also felt that way because I have had problems before the surgery having a Bowel movement. So things were rather full and that concerned him. I was on a liquid diet until the third day because they didn't want to push the bowels any harder then they had to. I passed gas and had a bm 1 day post op. So that wasn't the reason they wanted to make sure things were working and were cleaned out. Sorry if there are a lot of typo's I,m not wearing my contacts and can't see the screen to clearly. So forgive me. They made me lay side to side the first night to make sure I didn't get any blood clots or fluid in my lungs. Also Coughing. OUCH!!! I walked a lot. This also amazed them- don't ask me why I was told usually they have to really get on their patients to walk. It helps motivate the bowels. Thats all I can think of right at the moment. Boy it is quite this afternoon. If you have any questions I will answer them as best I can I am going to lay back down for a while. Tina MN or call Juno at (800) 654-JUNO [654-5866]
