Re: Have a dr appt and need advice-amyFrom: al (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun May 9 08:55:29 1999
Hi Tina This is going to sound really really really awful, but when I hear stories like yours it makes me extremely grateful and lucky to have the doc that I do, she's been wonderful, a great deal of knowledge about endo and fertility and all the preg issues. She's going off on mat leave june 1st, and assures me that her female replacement is also very good. I hope so, but still feel nervous that she might be a 'dud' and that I'll go through the things that you and so many others are going through. It boggles my mind, though, that a doc can be so awful, and, even more that you can't go for treatment elsewhere if you're not satisfied with the care you are getting. You know the saying, the squeaky wheel gets the grease? Is there any possibility of writing to your insurance company and explaining the problems you're having and including the names of potential doc's you'd like to see? Or switching insurance company if that doesn't work? I was off work from early Dec to end March; got one cheque for wage loss and a 'nice' letter from the ins. company saying they wouldn't expect anyone to be off more than two wks. due to this; long story short, I wrote a three page letter to them and the cheque was put in the mail on Wed. I think that we all have to fight for what we deserve and need; there are some things worth going to battle over and YOU are one of them!!! Ok, I've really babbled up a storm here, so I'll go! If I can help at all please let me know here or privately. And congrats on the sewing machine find, that's great! luv, Amy
