Re: yeast infectionsFrom: Kathryn (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Apr 30 05:28:30 1999
Hi Missy I used to have recurring yeast infections until I cut right back on my sugar intake. Sugar is apparently one of the worst offenders for causing them. I was told to stop eating anything with sugar in it for 6 weeks. This meant EVERYTHING! Even things like certain packets of chips, sauces, etc. Some things were included that you wouldn't even dream had sugar in them. I did it. It was very hard and I went through withdrawals, but I did it and I haven't had an infection since. I can now eat sugar but within moderation and I know when to stop now. I also know that if I over indulge the infections will come back. If you can last longer than six weeks it is even better, but six weeks is the minimum. Taking up eating yoghurt is also a really good idea or taking an acidophilous supplement (one that is kept in the fridge). Since doing this I haven't had a weight problem, either. I hope this helps. Kathryn
