Its "Dilation & Curettage" - dilate and scrape - often used after a miscarriage to clear out the uterine lining, also used when someone has very heavy periods/excessive bleeding like with bad fibroidsendo - supposedly helps to decrease bleeding in the latter. Also done to run patholoogical testing on saple of uterine lining. Among other things. Hope this helps.
