Sonya, Several years ago I was having imtermittent severe pains high in my abdomen, just under where the ribs end, which would have me doubled over in pain and crying, literally. Also had a lot of acid and pukey stuff in my mouth, horrible hearburn, a very weak gag reflex/still do and (sorry) but would often puke when I brushed my teeth, especially in the morning and absolutely cannot eat first thing in the AM or I lose it all in the sink (if I brush). Also had a lot of gas, gas pain, bloating. The doc ran a test for the upper GI where I had to drink a barium solution and they watch where/how it flowed, and diagnosed this. Becasue the flappy doesn't close properly, there's a lot of backflow (or upflow I guess) of stomach contents, and the improper closing of the sphincter also causes pain. Anyway, I made a lot of changes in what I eat, like cutting back of caffeine, spicy foods, greasy foods, etc; used ranitidin (prescription) to decease the acid in my stomach; and had the head of my bed elevated a few inches, and also didn't eat (or at least nothing heavy or greasy) after about eight pm. These all helped to decrease the problem, and I haven't used any prescription meds in a long time, but I'll tell you, my stomach lets me know when I'm slacking off! Oh, something else, clothes that are tight on my abdomen make it worse. Something that really works good for the acid and heartburn is Gaviscon probably available just about everywhere off the shelf - you chew the tablets and it makes a foamy coating over the stomach contents to help prevent stuff leaking. I hope this helps....but, it is possible you're having problems from the interaction of all the drugs you're off and on although it wouldn't hurt to try out the Gavison to see if it helps. I'd check with the pharmacist first about interactions with your meds though just to be safe, and also, to see if it will affect the effectiveness of your birth control as I've heard that some antacids do that -- although I remember you saying your still looking for Mr. Right! Take care, good luck, and have a good weekend! luv, Amy
